JANNEKE STORM
I never considered myself an artist; never did art at school because as an artist you have to draw and paint, I could not do either. As bleak the shared notion that art only consisted of acrylic paint and graphite was then, I accepted it.
It was not until I picked up a camera after a few tedious and misled university years, I had an epiphany that ushered me into the world of photography. As my understanding of photography grew, so did my passion for capturing and creating a unique moment in time.
I find people so interesting and being able to capture someone’s personality, attitude, beauty, quirkiness, or sadness in an image, is where I get my kicks.
As most aspiring photographers would say ‘I hope to one day make a living from what I do’ but even so, I am grateful for the moments in time I’ve captured. As they say ‘shoot for the moon and you’ll reach for the stars,’ my star would have to be London.
