My true passion for photography emerged in Copacabana, Brazil, when I took a photograph of street cleaners playing cards during their break. The moment I pressed the shutter, one of them looked straight into my lens. Partly shaking inside because I’d been discovered ‘peeking’ at them, part of me thrilled that I had captured a special moment. Whether it was because of this experience, my extensive traveling or my interest in other cultures- my starting point in photography lays in capturing ‘people in their natural habitat’.
I like to zoom in on life; I prefer capturing real things, unpolished people and slightly offbeat situations. I tend to look for humour rather than glamour.
