SAM HAWORTH
Before I began studying, photography was my way of escaping; now, as I approach the end of my formal studies, I’ve come to realise that there is no escape from photography.
The camera has become like an extension of myself, and my perception of the world has been altered. Photography gives me the opportunity to capture and convey my impressions of life. The medium enables one to put order to the chaos of everyday life, and offers a creative way of controlling what and how others see. I sometimes find inspiration in the most mundane objects or events, with the notion that I can create an alternate reality to suit my creative vision. I try not to chain myself to a specific style, but rather continually explore and push my creative boundaries.
To me, photography is a way of not only defining myself, but exploring life in all of its complexities. Through experimentation I’ve discovered my passion lies with interpretive imagery, and intend upon further developing my style in the future.
